    ETF's vs Managed Funds
The thing about etfs , they have very transparent pricing , very little counter party risk.
If the price were to drop below their proper value because of an exodus of retailers , then the profs , ie managed funds , super etc , should be there as a backstop.
They may be a little more volatile , as they will more quickly mirror price changes.
But , for me , etf's the better option , unless I believe a particular manager is smarter than me , or has access to products that I dont.
Sometimes there are advantages available like smoothing earnings in managed funds.
But , in the end , you are always going to be paying towards someone's Merc or penthouse at Bondi.
    cheers

ps: I have very little etf's
The main one partially covers stuff outside the biggies which I have always been overweight in.
