there were major issues with some of puffin wells . they were producing more water than anything else ( one well anyway). very thin ( 5m or so sands from memory ) which started producing water within weeks.
dispute with fpso owners and the ship sailed.
sinopecs investment of $600m for 60% of puffin would be a contender for worst investment in australian oil industry.
as for value of nwe's royality, speculative at best. if there was anything like 100mbbls there, sinopec would have taken the whole jv and be producing it by now.
