jim the issue for silicon as an anode is the amount of energy needed to produce it. this energy is not needed for natural graphite. 5-10% silicon is where the tech is heading for best anode energy storage. every aspect of the production chain with regards to how much energy is consumed is now being looked in the construction of EB's and natural graphite is best in this regard and will be for the foreseeable future.
