Mate, I lived in Tehran for nearly two years. Under the Shah it was peacful. They had started making their own cars, looked like a Hillman Hunter. The universities were full and when one earned a degree it was paid for by teaching out amongst the poor for a few years. Everyone kept a picture of the Shah in their houses, so I guess he worried people, although I didnt see any of it. In the banks and like many had been educated in the USA. They had executed about 50 drug smugglers that last year as I recall. The USA was building a lot of infastructure. In that last year. There had been some sugar hoarding to manipulate and they were prosecuting some, but it was a bit of a scandal that the Shahs relis got off with it.
They had startred rehabilitating the mountains, reintroducing species long since hunted out. There was some debate about wheather to reintroduce lions, but I think they stopped short of that.
It didnt look so bad to me.
About the brotherhood, you are very wrong.
