Clinton would be trying to position the US for intervention before a UN meeting. That's her job - to sell war to the public.

The offensive nature of US foreign affairs is that for a while now they have taken ownership of the word democracy and it's obvious the US policy makers only have that flag to wave.

The US is so far from any form of democracy it is laughable when less than 20% of elligible voters turn out. Muslins, hindus, jews, christians, and even the late Ray Charles could see that.

Spare a thought for Turkey - it is one country right in the middle of this. They are flanked by Egypt and Iran, and have lately expressed support for Iran.

Keep an eye on both the left hand and the right hand. This is still a much bigger play for the whole region.
