No. Absolutely, I would not! Perjury is perjury. A serious crime, despite the seriousness of the initial 'crime' someone might be on trial for. Simply, you do not lie under oath or make statements under penalty of perjury!
Without forcing honesty, our legal system is rendered totally useless.
