Einhorn - Hate him or love him, agree or disagree he certainly has both a sense of humor and a very direct way of challenging numbers - all of which are publicly put out by the companies.

Made me think twice - although 95% of my E&Ps are not pure play shale oil companies like PXD. Must read piece of research IMO - even if just for the (substantiated) contrarian view.

A question for Gordon Gekko or J R Ewing......

If a conventional well costs "average" $1.5m to drill, $3m to complete (fracking included),
produces 500K EUR oil for the life of the well, at a $20-$40 profit (per/barell),
for a total of $10-$20 million profit - multiplied by 154 wells, ........Is the venture profitable?
