Sunk would have put alot of nuclear waste in the Red Sea which is self defeating. The USN having to tow it back to one of their nuclear ship scrapping facilities is even more painful to the USA. The losses of experienced sailors on the carrier and the escorts has to be horrible. Some of the nuclear powered escorts have probably also been reduced to scrap. I wonder what is left of the USN submarine fleet?
