No zinvestor, the lime cannot be recycled as the calcium in the lime ends as a soluble chloride that dissolves in the brine. The chemical reactions are:
CaO + H2O -> Ca(OH)2
Ca(OH)2 + MgCl2 (soluble) -> Mg(OH)2 (insoluble) + CaCl2 (soluble)
In turn, this poses the problem of eliminating the calcium, the second stage of the brine pre-treatment before producing lithium carbonate.
