Unconventional is generally a measure of permeability.
Not the extraction technique. Although fracture stimulation is generally associated with unconventional.
No one gave a rats with any sort of reservior stimulation until recently. It was just one of many methods of increasing recovery.
From what I can gather KF seems to be thinly stacked conventional reserviors.
Problem being having enough permeable reservior in contact with the well. So fraccing may help, but I suspect horizontal or lateral drilling sounds like the go here.
