Very dense and better for weekend reading.

I am beginning this thread to give one location to put some of the many technical aspects of exploration for the El Fuego area.

Recently Witt, and Plumdinger/Bluegumnuts posted on IP, and regional geology respectively. There are other posts which gradually/quickly get lost in the sheer volume of posts on some threads. I have trouble keeping track of my own posts let alone finding something that tweaked my interest days or even years ago.

Maybe a thread like this could help folks get up to speed on HCH if folks stay mostly on topic
    .
BGN- link to 2020 paper on Productora intrusives/breccias

    Witt on IP.

Witt on weathering and Cu deposits Cu depletion, Moly resistant.

    Some regional maps
Geology 100,000 scale Vallenar-Domeyko sheet (Sernageomin = Geol. Survey or Chile; sorry best quality I could get so far.).

Initials for HCH project areas and D for the Domeyko Porphyry copper mine in the south.

Legend in Spanish and too complex to present.

The large intrusives, in red, tend to be poorly mineralised targets (Comment by CE on the intrusive S of Productora and NW of Cortadera. Also, visible "old" workings are not too common in those areas - perhaps marginal to the intrusives and in purple zones (mag highs - especially in the SW for Fe)

Magnetic imagery from Sernageomin (again low resolution - I did try to buy the original PDF files (Mag and Geol) but no go ...yet)

Digital data sets can be processed in many ways.
The above magnetics are fairly basic.
Processing the same data (below) with Reduced to the Pole (whatever that means) gives a different perspective. This scale may be too coarse to tell too much about individual prospects - this geo definitely, geophysicist ??, anyone else?

The complex deposit type (GBN - link above) at Productora may be reflected by the transition from high magnetics to lower....Many workings to the S/SSW extending for 10s of Kilometers - suspect many are for Fe.

On a more regional scale the large mapped intrusives are difficult to reconcile with the magnetics. Some hints of magnetic units being masked by later cover - E.G.the large feature extending NE from Productora and N from Cortadera (RTP mainly). Structural trends NNE-SSW

[Grid used to eyeball locations of prospects - rough.]

Magnetics with "old" workings found on Google Earth (A lot but not all probably)

First Vertical derivatives, Inversions and other methods would be available to HCH for processing available magnetic data. Conducting new surveys with a new generation of equipment (including drone based platforms) are possible though not a high priority at the moment. Sorting out the Cuerpos and seeing what is at Cortadera Norte come first IMO.

Finally a snip of exploration prospects in the Sernageomin data base.

The range of deposit types - Chile wide. Many different types in this image - A geos delight.

This gives some idea of how much previous exploration has been done though only reported and more recent work is included. Quite a lot of small (to med to large) scale mining on top of prospectors pits. Drilling has been relatively restricted (visible any way) to more easily accessible prospects. Not many of the "mining areas" appear to have had obvious RC or diamond drilling testing on this map sheet. There have been large programs to the west and south.
