    Metal Zonation in porphyry copper deposits.

    This week's announcement has this bullet pointed:

    The accompanying PDF touches the tip of another iceberg of knowledge to add to this thread.

    This image may need a Steve Garwin level of experience to decode. Great that he consults to HCH.

    =========
    I had a quick look back at the Cortadera Norte initial announcement to confirm that only Molybdenum (Mo) was reported for the soils. Seems to be the case and in the 24/9/2019 announcement there is no information about soil sampling or analytical procedures used. The comment that Cu Au Ag are present at Cortadera suggests data are available for these early soil samples - good drill results trump soils any day.

    A couple of points about Mo in soils.
    1 Mo can be directly related to the main part of a porphyry deposit but often tends to be more distal. [Probably no generalised statement will hold true for any element's distribution in such complex systems. Zonation will vary with each deposit with some overlapping features at times.]

    2 CE did not hold out much hope that the first four holes drilled to test the Mo anomalies were going to be successful. Impression from a chat at a meeting where it was mentioned access and permission to drill more favourable areas was not available.
    In this context I was a little puzzled when the initial Santiago Z announcement came out with only Mo being reported as the best thing since sliced bread.
    The juxtaposition of multiple elements in Anomaly 1 along with other features is exciting. What it means - time will tell especially with some drilling. To the north west off the HCH ground are some significant bedding parallel workings (red schematics) at Agua Amarga which may bear some relationship to mineralisation at SZ.
    Leakage from a deeper system????
