Mining companies frequently encounter start-up issues when they move into production. Clearly, they did not anticipate the many problems they did have over the last 6 months- ouch to shareholders like me.
Having experienced those problems, it is better to position the company to under promise and over deliver on future production forecasts. This is what most companies would do.
No guarantee they do not encounter further materials disruptions, but my bet is that they are playing the percentages and positioning the company to exceed forecasts in the next two years.
