This is an extract from a 'Border Mail' summary of Rural bank's outlook for 2023:"...It's a mixed outlook for agriculture in the coming year, with grains and lamb expected to perform well while the number of dairy farmers leaving the industry takes a toll.
Rural Bank's 2023 outlook also listed global economic challenges and continuing high production costs as the main dampeners..."
With ELD historically strong re anything to do with sheep, this is further encouraging news.
The A$ did however rise overnight, so if that continues, it's a negative for exporters. However to put a value of US$0.685 in perspective, close on 40 years ago the A$ bought US$1.15 so times have markedly changed.
