over the short-term, the share prices of all companies are affected by a number of variables most of them completely unrelated to how the company is performing. The local weather is actually a variable that will determine share price movements over the short-term.
You can often receive buy signals for companies that have never made any profit timing is important when looking at returns over just a few years.
