Thanks for the tips. Index investing is mostly what I do (VGS, VAS and some emerging markets), but I do have a sprinkling of holdings that are diversified in their own right and that I think can beat the market over the long term - Soul Patts, Macquarie, Infratil etc and a few big dividend payers. ELD sort of fits that first category, but probably less so than the other names I mentioned.
