FTTN is an outdated, obsolete technology. It was a waste of time. The fact that 5G will deliver more speed says it all.
Do you consider spending money on a technology that is outdated before the network is completed a "wise" investment of money? On the other hand, the speeds and upgrade potential of FTTP would have meant it would have provided all of the speed we need for decades to come.
It's like spending $500 on a rusty bike that will fall apart in 5 years when you could have had a brand new car for $800 that lasts several decades.
Anyone with an understanding of the technologies involved know what the Coalition did was piss away a lot of money for no reason other than political product differentiation. It's the biggest infrastructure debacle this country has seen.
The cost of rolling out FTTN, then having to rip it out and put in FTTP is far greater than simply putting in FTTP in the first place.
