You really get a clearer picture of US politics from outside the borders where the media is less skewed between right and left.

There is absolutely no doubt that Trump is gone in the mind as well as the Presidency. "Dig Daddy" is done and dusted and unless the Republicans can unearth another right-wing crazy in the next few years around which the maddies can congeal then they will take a beating in the mid-term elections.

The past is the past and the world has moved on but unfortunately the standstill policies of conservative governments the world over has stymied progress and has humanity hurtling towards the abyss of an environmental, social and economic calamity.

This isn't business as usual anymore and the younger generations who are smarter and more generous than their blinkered and greedy parents can't see a future in conservatism and will vote accordingly and cancel out the votes of their dumb-arse parents.

The last few years which saw the rise of Trump, Bolsanaro, Duterte, Putin and Xi Jinping was just the last hurrah of the troglodytes. We will just have to wait a few more years for the rest of these tied old actors to leave the stage - and for their supporters to die off.
