Of course, Mgreenro, high housing prices have little to do with John Howard and much to do with state and local government loading developers up with infrastructure costs that those governments once levied ALL home owners (and tenants) with.
Today, local and state govts saddle new block owners (via developers and builders) with those costs who pass them on all in one huge upfront hit so so new home buyers (not local and state govts) have to borrow to pay those embeded costs at the Far-End of their huge great mortgage.
But if John Howard wants credit that he didn't earn and doesn't deserve for the mining boom, if he gets stuck with blame he didn't earn and doesn't dererve for housing being unaffordable for many young Australians - tough titties!
