The fact is that for the greater part of this mining boom we have been under Howard, like it or not.
So if you would like to argue that Howard is taking credit for this boom, then I will conclude that you are claiming that he is taking credit for the financial prosperity it has bought upon us.
And I say to you that governments can have as much money as they like and still not be able to control their spending.
I related this to my own experience as a first home buyer to keep with your theme..... but it looks like even you cant stick to it!

Maybe, as I suggested in my last post about Howard knockers, that the home ownership issue like others on here, was just an opportunity to entertain a deeper seated hatred of Howard.
