SADC Observers Pleased with Organisational Level

Luanda – Observers of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) to the forthcoming September 05 legislative elections in Angola on Saturday expressed satisfaction at the organisational manner how the polls are being prepared.

SADC executive secretary, Mozambican Tómas Salomão revealed, at a press conference meant to inform about the work of the observing team, that the regional organisation shall comprise around 200 individuals of every Member State.

He stressed that the observation team shall be made up of government officials, representatives of the civil society and of NGOs, who will cover the whole country, making contacts with different actors of the Angolan electoral process.

Observers of governments, international and regional organisations are expected in Angola to follow up the September 05 legislative elections, whose electoral campaign started last August 05.

To remind that observers of the European Union are already in Angola working in various provinces of the country.

The parties MPLA, UNITA, PRS, PDP-ANA, PLD, PAJOCA, FNLA, PRD, PADEPA, FpD and the coalitions PPE, FOFAC, Angola Democrática and Nova Democracia are running for the legislative elections in Angola.
