    The current system is both secure and anonymous. The shift to an electronic system doesn't maintain BOTH secure and anonymous. You have one or the other. I'll happily fill out the paper and then help to count them as I have at the last several elections.

    The AEC really takes it seriously that the vote is secure and anonymous. If you doubt it, then as another poster above said, apply to the AEC for employment at the next election. It's hard work in terms of the hours but most of us keep coming back because we enjoy it. Otherwise join a political party or independant candidate and become one of the party scrutineers who stand over us monitoring how we handle and count the votes. Then you can criticise.
