Fuel bills are going to plummet with electric cars even with an ETS. Raise the price of something and people will innovate around it. In the case of transport the oil price has done the job. Higher electricity prices caused by an ETS will lead to increased innovation in this area too. A couple of years after it begins you will barely notice it and wonder what the fuss was all about.
