Will require a lot of incentives / government money / tax breaks etc to get thing changed, and that's just in the developed countries alone. And not to mention reliable electricity supply to recharge. Don't think there is that much money around to get this done right now (unless you count money printing).
Going green is the future! but when someone has to pay for it, the question becomes very complicated
