The thing is hydrogen storage is UNLIMITED subject only to the size of the storage tanks. Despite the losses these are miniscule compared to the nearly 100% losses with a tiny battery that can only last for minutes and all the rest of the energy to be stored is LOST.
Renewables are basically useless as they are only an unreliable secondary supply and MUST be backed up by a reliable primary coal or hydro generator.
Otherwise useless renewables are quite good at generating hydrogen as the hydrogen generator can tolerate the unstable frequency and voltage from these monstrocities that are very good at killing scores of birds.
