market, not governments.
Government needs to keep out of this or taxpayers
will see more of their money wasted.
I'd be interested to see your efficiency calculations
for both internal combustion and electric vehicles.
I worked through a comparison some years ago
on a running cost only basis and with 98 octane
petrol and the, then, electricity tariff (same vehicle
mass, passenger and load capacity, city driving only).
There was not much difference. Today, with power prices
almost doubled, it doesn't add up. Eventually electricity for
road use will attract an excise, Further worsening the balance.
