Thanks PP. I really appreciate the real world feedback.
As I suspected, range anxiety probably goes away pretty quickly. Looking after the battery by not stretching it's capacity makes a lot of sense.
I can only imagine how good an ev will be in a few years time with say, 50% , more range than they have now ?
Interesting about the sentry mode. Do you have an idea how much battery ( in terms of kms ) it uses ?
In the UK tests I have seen on evs, they talk about the use of the interior heating's effect on range. I can't remember the figures of the top of my head but I thought they were surprisingly low given how much you need the heater in the UK. Sentry plus heating might be a problem though.
A new ev for me is still a fair way off given the lack of suitable models. It is good to see the F150 Lightning coming as I think that will really stimulate the SUV market. I really like the frunk in the F150. Not having interior ( dry ) storage space is an issue in a ute. That really adds a level of practicality for me.
The way it's going it will be more likely that I'll have one of my old bangers converted to electric before I can buy a daily ev I reckon.
