Minimum 20k. Up to around 50k all though there are lots of variations in that . The batteries are the killer. They probably make up two thirds of the cost at the moment. So, there is a direct relationship between range and cost. For 50k you might have a 200km range with plenty of hp so it kind of fits into the usage scenario of an old classic.
One advantage ( kind of ) , is you can start with a short range initially and then add more batteries later. It's a way of softening the blow on the wallet.
I have already started toying with the idea of a complete Tesla transaxle so that I get the the whole motor/gearbox/diff/inverter in one package. Having no tailshaft would enable the tunnel to be used for battery placement as well as the engine bay in anything with a chassis. Particularly for an American pickup.
I'll probably use a unit from a model 3 as the S models are very wide. Also gives you an independent rear suspension as a bonus.
There's a couple of other wrinkles. Electric power steering ( no biggy ) and electric A/C. All easily doable but just an extra thing to consider.
Here's an example off a VW kit that's just come out. Not a Chev but you get the idea.

Another thing that occurred to me. While the electric motors are less horsepower than something like your Chev, their power output is almost linear from zero speed. So, you get a really fat range depending on what you are after.
I also think that it will give the car some life. I'm not writing off ice classics yet. I reckon they've got plenty of time . However, as battery prices fall and/or as batteries improve, that ev conversion car will just get better and better over time.
As I said previously, there's lots of moving parts to this ( pardon the pun ) and I'm yet to work out the details. but once you put some real numbers on paper, there doesn't seem to be a lot of difference. Hence my interest in talking about it with like minded people.
At some point I reckon I'm going to just pull the trigger and work out the details as I go. It's a little way off yet but as yet I can't see any showstoppers so far.
