No wonder EVs are heavy.
IMO the intelligent thing would be to have individual small electric motor in each wheel hub so that
if there was an issue the wheel assembly could be exchanged. Just imagine if something goes wrong
inside that massive combo of mechanical & electrical components!
Its bad enough now when an Automatic specialist tells you it will cost $6K to rebuild tour trannie.
When something goes wrong in this unit the repair bill could be 3 times that, IMO.
