As to fast charging do you know what happens to wind generators when the wind is too strong -- they blow up, so they have to be turned off in strong winds The batteries used today are in fact generators and when you drive them too hard they also blow up

When we read of these trials where they "charge" a rechargeable battery in almost minutes it is always under very controlled "laboratory" conditions and often the battery is being cooled so as not to overheat.

As we know when charging a battery of any sort heat is produced and that would need to be drained off somehow if one was to whack a huge amperage in quickly.
Often the battery will not accept the fast charge either, and will show low charge after a very short time after the "fast" charge was carried out.

It will be a long time before manufacturers can sell batteries that can be safely fully charged in minutes...if ever. It may well be that the physical make up of such a battery hasn't even been invented yet.
