@FrantzFanon agree! Wife and I bought our cars (mine 2nd hand, hers new) in 2017 knowing they would be the last ICE vehicles we would own. Tried to time it with the arrival, range and affordability when they get here.
I do fear though...like you say, that as long as there's dollars to be made and people pulling strings with what is published through media/social media - the uptake will be delayed. Also, worry about the rollout of charging infrastructure and how ICE vehicles will plummet in value. How will they be transferred off the roads? eg. buy back schemes and so on.
I've mentioned before that affordability is the key...cost of living is high and wage growth isn't paralleling. For EV's to penetrate the market, they've got to be in that $30-40k price bracket. Eagerly watching VW...once that Golf/ID3 becomes available, I reckon it'll be on.
For what it's worth, got stuck in Southern China for a day and was blown away by how many electric vehicles I saw on the freeway.
