I know this is an electric car thread, but how many of you have been keeping up with the progress of NASA's X57 Maxwell ?
A goal for the X57 project is to develop certification standards for emerging electric aircraft markets,
NASA will share the aircrafts Electric propulsion , focused design and Air worthiness process with regulators and industry.
Also it aims to Demonstrate a 500 % increase in high speed, cruise efficency and ZERO in flight Carbon Emissions .
Quieter flight would also be achieved for the general community.
Exciting times ahead
First flight is planned in 2020.
