    Thought it would happen quicker and sooner. I totally underestimated how much and strength of resistance.

    Not sure why you are so surprised about that, it hasn't been a matter of resistance, without subsidies electric cars have been simply too expensive for the mass market , even with subsidies they were still too expensive for many, demand simply wasn't there.

    Its only now that longer ranges, increasing fast charging stations and manufacturing costs starting to reduce with volume, that they are making it a viable option for many but even after that it still requires subsidies, including more indirect ones such as not paying road user charges or fuel tax.
    At some point road user charges will have to be addressed.

    IMO most people would love an electric car, they are better in almost every respect, but it's only now becoming a viable option in some countries. Good to see Germany and France have both cracked the 10% market share now , that's considered a tipping point where things start to gain traction and accelerate...

    Dont know why you knock Daimler or BMW , Daimler has a line of 10 different EV models by 2022 ad BMW have electric cars on the road now...both will be well aware of what's going on around them.
