Have a look at the great info graphic comparing car sales between many vehicles, especially Tesla M3 vs the Camry from the start of the year until now. It is awesome to watch. The market grab share is incredible. Wait until the model Y launches!
This has huge ramifications for us.
1. We are supply Tesla (GXY) and will be supply Toyota (ORE), so increased Tesla sales vs ICE Camry do well for us.
2. Obviously, looking at who is losing market share Toyota will not take this for too long. It is going to force them into action, meaning changes on the sales front at home. Time to bring forward some plans? While this is in Australia the land of anti-EV policy, can you imagine what impact this would start to be having on Toyota in EV friendly tax countries? This is going to force them to act faster, faster they act the more they are going to need from ORE. Toyota has all the capability, but they do need a kick up the bum to transition faster. You the people are finally starting to do that.
This is win-win for us.
A few Model Y's have entered the country, so not too long now. When it's time to order I think I will shave a few profits and buy one. Indirectly, thanks to Tesla it would be through their activities giving me a free car (based on how they accelerated the lithium world through EV sales). I am sure a few more posters would be thinking the same thing.
