BMW have a lot of ice cars to sell so all he's doing is giving confidence to potential buyers who have doubts about spending big $$ on what might be an outdated car in a few short years. Sales may already be slowing down and enquiries about what EVs are coming and when being made. I bet people are already holding back purchasing new cars and car manufacturers are noticing.just my opinion.
