The year 2000 was a record for Kodak. Photography had never been bigger, nor had their profits. They filed for bankruptcy in 2012 because they never imagined how big digital photography was going to be. They invented digital photography.
Change these days is exponential. 50% EV by 2030 doesn't seem implausible at all. Car manufacturers are taking care of that.
GM US 100% EV production by 2030
Porsche 100% EV production by 2028
Volkswagon 27 EV models by 2022, 50 by 2025
BMW 12 EVs by 2025
Honda EVs will be 2/3 of sales by 2025
Toyota 10 EV models by 2020
Volvo Every new Volvo introduced will be electrified from 2019
