Interesting back of envelope calculation,
20 million vehicles registered in Oz
each dose (a very conservative) 50km per day
at 13kw per 100 kms, that's 6.5 kw each vehicle per day.
Total power required per day 130 Gigawatts to recharge all these vehicles.
Or half as much again as the total installed power in the whole of Australia.
This is going to take some forward planning.
Not advocating for new coal power stations, but probably not to close existing ones early.
Happy to be proved wrong on this.
