BYD announced that the company and Toyota Motor Corporation signed a contract on July 19, 2019. The two sides reached cooperation on joint development of electric vehicles. They will jointly develop pure electric vehicles for cars and low chassis SUVs with models of Toyota brand, and plan to put them into the Chinese market by 2025. The two sides will also jointly develop power battery for the above vehicles.
