    "Clean diesel" could perhaps be recycled vegetable oil (e.g. left over from fish and chip shops). It's not derived from petroleum oil, but it definitely produces CO2 when it's burnt!

    In reality it's just regular diesel engines that produces less toxic gases but just as much CO2.
