Although higher for EVs the carbon emission during manufacture is a one off event for all vehicles and the longer service life of EVs results in a similar value per distance driven. Although difficult to calculate, the effective manufacturing emissions will be reduced for EVs in the future because a larger % of their components can be recycled into higher value material compared to ICE vehicles.
