Shenzhen-based automaker BYD has soared past Tesla as the top-producing electric vehicle company. With the release of the new 1000 hp EV Hummer comes the release if the VW ID BUZZ - initial start up was halted 3 weeks into production due to faulty battery cells. As they’re all standardised these can be swapped out. The bugs are being ironed out (no pun intended) even at the same time as the Tesla Gigafactory in Germany experienced some teething issues. But the biggest gong goes to Chinese car maker (no need to say EV anymore!) BYD. Car sales exceeded 641000 cars in the first half of 2022. Did someone say there would be an oversupply of lithium??
