Silly question: Are complaints about the cost of power in australia associated with the unit cost of power supplied or the total bill for the amount used per set period.? eg I only use the airconditioners for about 2 weeks a year. live in tropics and dislike cold weather. Wife prefers the cold. we have lots of windows and overhead fans. I observe new constructions in cities with few windows and assume occupants will need to operate air conditioners nearly 24 hours a day. I do not find our power bill for 2 people excessively large? So what total (any defined period) house hold power bill for 2 people is considered acceptable. Obviously many variables. I am trying to understand why and what costs make power a political issue. eg the push for nuclear power supply.
