@acornConflict of interest? Hahahha.
Would you call their investment properties a conflict of interest in a cost of living crisis? As they are both benefiting off rising costs of housing and accomodation. Lolz.
Alright let's do a quick Google, how many drivers are there in the world? "1.4 billion, but the number maybe higher and closer to 2 billion."
So say we need 2 billion EVs by 2050, as there will be more drivers by then right? And that would be probably being conservative. How many critical minerals will be needed for 2 billion EV batteries alone?
Here is the picture we are all know and love and are familiar with. Do some multiplication on these numbers and you tell me.
For wind turbines, according to energypost.eu the world may need 200,000 more offshore wind turbines by 2050, Business Insider said "3,995,434 onshore wind turbines" to power the world back in 2016 if we to rely just on wind, Forbes said there needs to be 1.26 million wind turbines to power the US alone, now of course we aren't going to just rely on wind and those numbers are a bit all over the place, but the point is a lot is needed. How much copper and ree is needed per wind turbine?
What about Solar panels? There are no weights here, but look at all the minerals needed.
So how many mines are needed for 8 billion people to run entirely on renewables? You tell me.
If you are making the "unrealistic assumption" that every copper mine is going to be at 100Mt at 2% Cu or every lithium mine is going to be a Greenbushes or every REE mine is going to be like MEI's Caldeira, there will still be a need for a lot of mines.
It is simply not doable in 25 years....
