    The total current demand is 35 Snowy equivalents.

    There are only 3 in the pipeline now. A long way to go still.

    So stupid really. Gas is expensive,

    The CO2 from Gas is only half that of Coal, so it's not really good to use either.

    Are the planned Gas power stations Gas Turbines, or Boiler/Steam like Newport Power Station in VIC.

    Turbines are not as efficient as Boiler fired Power Stations. Gas Turbines require %70 energy input to the compressor stage to get %25 energy out as electricity. Poor efficiency.

    Would it not be better and cheaper to build a few Coal Power Stations considering how much Coal we have and how cheap it is for us.

    I would think that the overall emissions would not be much worse than using Gas if it's Turbines to be used.

    Modern Boilers and Turbine Power Stations are much cleaner and more efficient then the 70yo ones we are getting rid of.

    We need to investigate what the plans are.
