    Agree Shane75 at these prices geothermal would be a very competitive option today.

    The additional advantages are that you are shielded from future rises in commodity prices, and a future carbon pricing regime. Interesting that AGL has just announced another wind farm in SA so they clearly believe that renewables are competitive. Wind can't provide the scale, reliability or cost effectiveness of geothermal though.
