The rebalancing in March was cancelled because of Covid volatility. No doubt they would have made it to at least the ASX 300. Standard & Poor's looks at the average share price in the last six months, volume, free-float etc. Being a constituent is so important. For example, the Vanguard Australian Shares index ETF tracks the ASX 300. Assets Under Management as of 30 April, 4,8 billion. A lot of institutional investors are also only allowed to invest in stocks that are part of an index.
