    It can only be hacked if it is connected to the internet

    If each polling centre has it's own computer and slaves screens for people to enter their votes there is almost no way it can be tampered with, simple and effective.
    So effectively the same as we already have but electronic version with no pencils and no chance of altering the forms either

    When the day is finished a copy of the results can be put on a thumb drive and taken to a central point for the final result.

    No hacking, result within a few hours, much cheaper, much easier for the voting public and the AEC would not finish up with egg on their face after every election
