Just completed.my fourth African trip. This time to Botswana and namibia. There are few sights more peculiar than watching a bull elephant shake a gigantic palm tree with its head and then collect the palm fruit at leisure.
Elephant reduction and loss will have ecological effects also. They are a bush clearance machine which is required for other species to thrive. There is a most accessible waterhole nth Namibia where the elephants night activities/ interactions are on display. They show true affection for eachother , more than many people I know. I will seek to post a pic or two this week.
