@Stumpedup, welcome to the new year ! I was just thinking about you guys….. I just looked up our holdings In The Pengana Special Situations fund which I told you about and invested in only Jul. an initial investment of $20k is now an insane $28k. The Hyperion small companies fund is doing well, as is the Medallion Fund. The Schroders fund of course is long term and There is nothing much happening there in a short term. Tim at Auscap will be lamenting that he sold out of JBH too early ? I haven’t reduced my positions, but like you am cautious about the strength of the market. The first thing I do these days is to look at the EPS growth of a prospective investment and then go thru my metrics. I am finding that a lot of historically healthy companies like IPG, SDF, MAD, and others SEEM healthy but their SPS are depressed. The future will determine if my metrics are correct and the companies SPS rise, or if there is a catalyst with Trump, interest rates, the world at war etc, that will act as a black swan event and change everything. Glad you liked the Substack article. He isn’t as regular as he was, but it’s always interesting to get the article and be able to review one’s holdings. Best wishes for 2025 and keep in touch. Always good to catch up.
