There have been various estimates (guesstimates) of what price per Mega Watt Hour GDY can achieve for its power.

Is there anyone here who can provide any factual or even reasonable estimates. The power to be generated will / could be both base load and peak load power. Hence, I believe the decision not to sell the power direct to Olympic Dam.

Base load prices are fairly static, whereas peak load prices can fluctuate wildly. OD will have a special deal with SA to provide base load power at a set price, probably at the 20% discount that has been mentioned.

It will be very easy for GDY to "Choke" the flow to reduce the generation, much like a Hydro scheme, or alternatively, crank it up at peak times. Unlike conventional coal fired generators - You cant stop the turbine that quickly - This is where the hydro schemes get their cheap power from to pump the water back up the hill!

This really does seem to be the ideal power generation source.
